A Little Concerned

So, I felt kinda crappy all night last night, and didn't get a lot of sleep.  But I got up this morning and got ready for work and took Ryan on to my sister's house for the day.  It was on my way from there that it dawned on me that I hadn't been feeling Jensen move around very much at all.  I actually couldn't think of feeling him at all since sometime in the middle of the night.  And my lower abdomen had been having some pretty noticeable cramps.  I decided to call into work, and then called the doctors office.  They didn't have any way of squeezing me in, so they sent me on to the hospital to get checked out.  Luckily, once I got there, Jensen started showing off and wouldn't stay still, which was great b/c I could feel him again and release some anxiety.  They still kept me in triage for a while to monitor the heart rate and movements, and he was perfectly fine.  They did say that I showed some contractions, which could have been Braxton Hicks or could have been the start of real ones, but they tapered off after about an hour or so.  They told me to go home and stay in bed/on the couch for the rest of the day, just to be safe, which was fine by me since I didn't sleep much last night.

I'm still feeling pretty crampy, especially if I'm up and about, and I guess he's running out of room because I'm not feeling him move quite as much as normal, but he's still active, which is a plus.  Now I'm just wondering if he's going to manage to stay put until the 18th, or if we're going to get our bundle of joy a bit earlier than planned.  The doctor said that if I do go into labor, being as far along as I am, they won't try to stop it.  So now its even more of a waiting game, and I'm not a patient person! :)

January 18, 2011

Sounds like just another day off in the future, right?  WRONG! :) That is the day that we have scheduled our c-section for Jensen...that will be my new little man's birthday!  We are so excited, but you know what else?  I'm starting to get nervous.  That's only 32 days from today...yep, you read that right, only 32 days!!  WOW!  I'm starting to feel the pinch, it seems we have a lot left to get done before he gets here.  I'm sure we'll be fine and have it done, but that still doesn't stop the stress.

We had our baby shower last Sunday, December 12th from 2-4 pm at the church in Maple Hill.  Although it was very very cold and rainy, we had a great turnout and Jensen received lots of wonderful goodies.  I'll have to take a picture of the nursery before we organize it...it looks like a complete madhouse in there right now.  We had been doing so well with keeping it clean after emptying it out, but now it has turned into the catch all for the Christmas shopping and wrapping.

Speaking of Christmas shopping, I have 1 gift left to buy, then I will be D-O-N-E with shopping and that makes me super happy.  I haven't gotten much of it wrapped, but I did make an early morning stop at Target before work and picked up some more gift bags, so I might not be wrapping as much as I usually do.  I prefer to wrap because I love watching people actually open the gifts, but this baby belly is getting in the way of my sitting down in the living room floor and leaning all over the place to wrap, so I'm thinking I might be lazy this year with bags.  They're still cute and they still match my Christmas tree, which is a must for me.

I would like to put an image up of the Christmas Cards that I've sent out, but I can't seem to get Hallmark.com to let me do that.

I hope everyone has a great and wonderful Christmas, and I'll probably do another post after Christmas, we go back to the Dr on the 27th.

Merry Christmas!!!!!

Soon & Very Soon...

We're at 7 weeks and counting, I can't believe it's getting so close!  I went for my last monthly appointment early last week and everything is still going great.  The nurse questioned whether or not I had participated in the Thanksgiving festivities because, believe it or not, I had not gained anything since my last appointment 3 weeks prior....woohoo! :) I have done so much better this pregnancy with weight gain, so I'm hoping I'll be able to lose it (and what was left from Ryan too!) a little bit easier.

One thing that this pregnancy has taught me is that I can be much more proactive at things if I really put my mind to it.  I'm almost completely done with my Christmas shopping, which is something I usually haven't even started by now.  I've also learned that I'm really not as patient as I once thought I was.  I've done as much of my Christmas shopping online this year, or I've handed over the reign and let Casey go get it.  I just can't seem to handle the crazy mobs of people out there!  Any of it that I'm doing in stores is usually done on my lunch break or before I even come in to work in the mornings, so the crazies aren't out yet.

This coming weekend is our baby shower and I'm so excited.  Casey's mom and sister are throwing it in Maple Hill at their church, and I know it'll be great.  Our bridal shower was there as well and we were very blessed then, and I don't doubt this will be any different.  I might not be convinced yet by my husband to move back there (I'm pretty certain I can't take being that far out in the middle of nowhere), but I am more than convinced that it is a great community full of people who would do anything and everything for those around them.  Hopefully I will have some pics up next week or so from the shower, and I have one or two of my sister and I with our bumps.

We go for another appointment on Monday, and the last doctor had told us that we'd be scheduling the c-section date at this appointment.  So hopefully, this time next week, we'll know a more accurate date of when we get to meet our new little man!  This whole pregnancy has seemed to fly by, but now that its getting closer to the end, its creeping!

Jensen's growing....

and therefore so am I.  :)

This is pretty much one of the first pics that I've had taken since I've been preggers...I'm not so much for pics of getting bigger and bigger, even if it is mostly because of my little rugrat growing inside.  :)  The countdown is on, 10 more weeks!

Halloween & More

First off, let me say I really just can't get over how fast this pregnancy is flying by!  I'm already 28 weeks along...that means only 12 weeks left to go!  And technically, that's 11 weeks, since we know we'll be doing a scheduled C-section and they will schedule that for 39 weeks (hopefully we get that date scheduled soon).

Ryan had a great time for Halloween this year.  We went on Saturday afternoon to the Fall Festival at Poplar Grove Plantation with my sister, her husband, his son and daughter-in-law and their daughter, Marley.  There was lots of those inflatable slides and bouncy things, and Ryan had a ball doing each of them several times.  Here is one pic where it looks like he's on his feet, but actually I caught the shot in mid-bounce. :)

They also got to do pony rides, which both Ryan and Marley thought was pretty cool.  Hard to believe, but I think this might have been Ryan's first pony ride.

They both also did the bungee jump thing and Ryan did the rock wall climb too...obviously, these children are completely spoiled! haha  Ryan also just had to prove to us that he was tough and he wanted to go with us through the Haunted House.  I kept trying to convince him that he wouldn't like it, but he kept saying "I'll be fine, I know that stuff is fake"...he was ready to come out of there within the first 5 feet of the door!  My brother-in-law, "Uncle Mere" to Ryan, opted to carry him all the way through for me so Ryan could say that he went through, which of course, at the end, he said he wasn't really scared, he was just kiddin'.  haha.  Boys and their egos...:)

Sunday we were back over at Denises' house to do trick-or-treating with Marley.  Both of them had a great time getting buckets full of candy.

Sunday afternoon before trick-or-treating, Casey and I got to work on putting together the crib for Jensen's nursery.  I was recently out of town for 4 days for work, and while I was gone, Casey painted the nursery, shampooed the carpets, and put together the changing table.  So I was extremely excited to get the crib together and put the bedding in...doing that definitely makes this seem a bit more "real".  Here are a few pics of the finished product.

I'm still planning to put up some pictures and some words on the walls.  I can't quite decide on what words...not sure if I want to do his name over the changing table, or maybe I can find an appropriate quote to put up...we'll see what comes up. :)

The Worst Drink Ever

So, I have to say...this is absolutely the worst drink ever!  You'd think that they could come up with a better way to do the Glucose Tolerance Test when you're pregnant.  I mean, seriously, one time in a woman's life when her gag reflex goes out the window and everything seems to make her nauseous, they want you to drink something that is supposed to taste like Tang, but instead just tastes like crap!  haha, anways, enough of my rant on the drink, I did get my call today that I passed, so I don't have to A) go sit for the extended test (and drink more of this stuff) and B) I definitely don't have gestational diabetes...

25 Weeks

25 weeks??!  Already?!?!  I can't believe how fast this pregnancy is flying by!  It seems like just yesterday we were letting Ryan telling his grandparents and everyone that he was going to be a big brother, and now we're on the "downward" side of it.  I remember feeling like I had been pregnant forever with Ryan, but not so much with this one.  I guess it really is true that every pregnancy is different.  And we have finally come up with a name for Baby #2...Jensen James Wooten.  Jensen was just a name that we both felt "fit" and James is Casey's middle name, and his grandmother's maiden name, so it's been around a while.

Jensen is a very active and rambunctious individual...he is in constant motion, which, in turn, constantly keeps me entertained.  I can't believe how much I missed feeling a baby move around inside...it's unlike anything else you'll ever experience, and it's something that just seems so special.  It's your first contact, so-to-speak, between mother and child and something that strictly belongs to you two.  Granted, Casey and Ryan have had their chances to see/feel Jensen kick too, but its nothing (in my opinion) compared to feeling it almost constantly.  I have to say, I will definitely miss it when he get's here, although holding him in my arms will completely make up for it. :)

Mover & Shaker

This little guy loves to move!  I'm starting to think that I've got another one on my hands that isn't going to want to sleep because he is in constant motion.  Not that I'm complaining...feeling those little kicks and squirms are one of the best parts of being pregnant.

Last week was the first time that Casey was able to feel him kick which is great!  Now I can't wait to catch it at a good time for Ryan to be able to feel him.  Speaking of Ryan, he is absolutely so cute about this new baby!  He talks to him at least once a day.  He just puts his face up to my belly (the ever-expanding belly) and says "Hey baby!  I missed you while I was at school today.  Sure can't wait for you to come out of there! Love you.  Bye."  That's usually the gist of the conversation.  And then he kisses my belly.  How stinking cute is that?

I go in a few weeks for my gestational diabetes test, which, from what I remember, wasn't much fun.  I know I didn't pass the "easy" test with Ryan, so I had to go for the prolonged test, which meant I had blood drawn every hour on the hour for 4 hours, or something outrageous like that.  Hopefully it goes better this time around.  GB is something I don't really want to contend with!

So far, this pregnancy has gone pretty great.  I was sick mostly through the first trimester, but that's tapered off, and now I feel pretty good all the time.  I am still extremely tired by late afternoon, and my bedtime is usually pretty consistent with Ryan's, which is very rare for me.  My biggest complaint had been heartburn, but after my last appointment, the doctor gave me a prescription for Nexium, and it has completely knocked out the heartburn.

Well, I guess that's about all the updating I have for the day.  I've been off work yesterday and today because I'm supposed to be studying to get my insurance license.  That's obviously working out real well for me, huh?  Have a great day!

It's A....

BOY!!!!
Ryan is absolutely tickled that he is having a baby brother, and we are too!

At the start of the ultrasound, it looked like our little one wanted to be very bashful, but after a little prodding, we were able to get a good luck at, well, the "goods". haha. It is obviously a boy, and we couldn't be happier.

I'm thinking that this one might look more like Casey, what do ya'll think? :)

Counting Down

So, I had an appointment yesterday; my first actual doctors appointment for this pregnancy. It took me so long to finally get accepted as a patient that things got a little bit behind. But no worries, I haven't missed any important tests or anything, so that's just fine. There really wasn't much to the appointment, blood pressure check, weigh in, a measure of the belly, and then listened to the heart beat (which is always awesome to hear). I did get to schedule my appointment for my ultrasound, which is going to be August 30th, so we're on the countdown to finding out if we have a boy or girl. I can hardly wait!

In the meantime, we are moving Ryan out of his room and into what was formerly the spare bedroom. We decided that we would put him in there and decorate it as his new "big boy" room, which is coming along great, in my opinion. Two walls are painted dark blue and the other two are painted slate gray, with bright white trim. Now we jut have to get his furniture, toys and clothes moved in, and we'll be all set! Then it'll be on to decorating the nursery, but that will wait until we find out what we're having. :) Once everything is done, I'll post some pics. Have a great day!

Quick Update

I promise that I will get the image of the 8 week ultrasound scanned in at some point to share the first glimpse of our little bean with everyone...I'm just being a bit slack right now.

Everything seems to be going pretty good so far. We're right at 15 weeks, so finished up the first trimester...yay for no more morning sickness! I have, luckily, noticed that my nausea has diminished quite a bit over the past 2-4 weeks or so, and my fatigue has started to wear off too. I can actually manage to stay up past Ryan's bed time now! I'm still not so much the night owl that I have been in the past, but I'm sure its because my body knows that in about 6 months, I'm not going to be getting much sleep at all, so its trying to stock up what it can now.

I'm getting really excited to be able to find out if it's a boy or a girl. Casey is too...he's said more than once that the anticipation of it is killin' him! I'm really partial to having a girl this time around (although it'll be just fine to have another sweet baby boy too), and I'm not sure that Casey really has a preference. I know this will be the last one for us and I'd really like to have one of each...I'd love to see Ryan in the role of "protective big brother" . Speaking of Ryan, he can't seem to make up his mind on brother or sister...it really started out more for sister, but has recently started asking more for a brother. And I think he's having fun trying to help pick out name ideas too.

I've already got ideas for the nursery in my mind...now all I have to do is get the room cleaned out! I haven't really worked in there very much since selling the furniture out of there...something I definitely need to get to working on.

Well, this is all of the update for now...hopefully I'll have some pics to post soon.

Things Seem Different

Maybe it's becuase I know about this pregnancy a lot sooner than I did with Ryan, or maybe it really is true that pregnancies are very different each time around, but this time, things are so much different! I was already 9-10 weeks when I found out about Ryan, and really didn't have much of a clue before then, so I'm thinking that maybe I didn't notice most of the symptoms.

Well, I notice them ALL now! I've been queasy from the time I wake up to usually right after lunch, my chest is killing me, I'm running to the bathroom all the time (and already through the night!), killer heartburn, and I can already tell that my clothes don't fit the same anymore. Getting ready for work this morning really got me. I have one favorite pair of work pants from New York & Co, and it looks like I'm going to have to try and get some more, because they are about the only pair that are still comfy. All of my other ones are getting tight around the waist although, thank goodness, I haven't gained any weight. But I'm only 7 weeks! So I'm stuck at what to do. I don't want to spend the money on maternity clothes just yet because I know I won't be able to fit in them in a few months, but I can't keep wearing my regular clothes much longer either. Oh how I wish I was able to wear my gauchos to work!

Things are starting to sink in around the house. We sold our spare bedroom furniture yesterday to a friend who needed it so that we can start clearing out the third bedroom. When Ryan got home and noticed it, he questioned it, and we told him we had to clean it out for his new baby brother/sister. He looked at me very concerned and said, "But Mommy, we can just put the baby in my room with me and I'll watch out for it". How cute is that? But when I informed him that babies get up all throughout the night and you have to get up with them, and feed them, and change their diapers, he quickly changed his mind and decided it was a good idea for Baby Wooten to have his/her own room. HA! Now we just need to get the rest of our junk out of the room (easier said than done), get the carpets cleaned, and then we'll start decorating after we find out if it's a boy or girl. I can't wait! :)

Baby Makes Four!

We are pleased to announce that we will be adding another little Wooten to the clan! We are so excited to get to share this experience with Ryan. He is so tickled that he is going to be a big brother; he says he doesn't care whether it's a boy or a girl, that he'll be "proud" of either one. How cute?! I'm hoping to be better at keeping up with this blog and keeping it updated with all the happenings while we wait patiently for our new little one to arrive. Keep checking back!!
